Halifax, Nova Scotia
Arrived today after a uneventful plane ride (just the way i like 'em). My lovely bride sacrificed her morning to take me to D.C. so i could fly out of National Airport.
My bike was here to greet me after a fairly stressful couple of days trying to make sure that Fed Ex remembered it's tag line: "when you absolutely have to have it..." Only thing that is broken is the back brake (who needs to stop?!?).
Tried to make it to the 25th Busker Festival in Halifax but i was busy with little things like putting the bike back together.
Most people are telling me that the Cabot Trail (day 6-8) is all up hill. (my reply is that eventually you have to go back down). Just need to start early enough so I'm not sleeping by the side of the road. Fellow biker just warned me that the woods are filled with black bears!!! (I thought he said black berries...i was so looking forward to breakfast!!!).
Can't wait to start tomorrow...hope the roads are marked! Otherwise, I'll have to break the male code and ask for directions (at the risk of being thrown out of the club).
All is Well.
